About
My research program aims to improve the long-term neurological outcomes of critically ill children. We use information from high-density electroencephalography, functional near-infrared spectroscopy, and functional magnetic resonance imaging in children during the acute phase of critical illness to assess their neurological function accurately and predict long-term neurological morbidities.
This inter-disciplinary research program sits at the intersection of critical care medicine, computational neuroscience, and functional neuroimaging. My program of research also uses novel randomized controlled trial designs to test complex functional neuroimaging modalities for enhanced screening and diagnosis of neuropathology such as delirium, to assess novel prognostic tools in brain-injured children, and to evaluate novel therapeutic interventions such as inhaled sedation in critically ill children.
